Early life experiences and health across the life course: risks and opportunities

Abstract: Adverse experiences in childhood are common in the United States and contribute to racial/ethnic and socioeconomic disparities in health across the life course. This presentation will highlight (1) the importance of considering childhood experiences for the development of chronic disease risk, (2) major outstanding questions on the biological embedding of early life experiences, and (3) possibilities for intervention.
