I would like to encourage everyone to pose questions for Catherine in the chat and/or indicate your desire to pose a question on camera at the end during Q & A. Thank you for being here!
Thank you, Laura. I have a class and have to leave but I am curious as to how Dr. Sameh is thinking about her work in the larger context of the Muslim gender justice movement? Thank you for this event.
Thank you! I will convey your question if you leave before the Q & A.
Catherine, if the Biden admin can lift some or all of the sanctions how might that affect the activists and their projects (beyond general improvement)?
Can you talk about how your work on this book informs your recent thinking about care and non-state forms of solidarity and aid? I am thinking of transnational activism and solidarity in advancing a feminist praxis and epistemology of care.
I think that your approach to ethnographic methods is very interesting and I wonder if you might share—esp. for students thinking about this in their own work -how you thought through an approach that brings together autobiography, memoir, and alternative media in part to address issues of access and ethics.
As we wrap up our last question, I want to thank everyone for joining us for this great kick off for the GSS Book Talk Series organized and envisioned by Prof. Kang, “Thinking Women” - thank you Prof. Sameh and Prof. Grewal for the conversation. Hope to see everyone at our next talk on April 21.
